Whittaker Clearly Wins Primary Against 2 Opponents in D2 City Council Race

Internal Memo:

Election night results: Whittaker Clearly Wins Primary Against 2 Opponents in D2 City Council Race

While Whittaker and Allen will move to the November 8th ballot this initial 3-way race was nothing short of a huge victory for Whittaker. District 2 consists of 10 precincts. Whittaker sailed to victory securing 10 of the 10 precincts.

There were 3 notable precincts in this election. In Whittaker’s home precinct, Greenfield Park, which is also the home precinct of Kathleen Winn he carried it with 46% of the vote. Neither other candidate could break the 30% barrier. Allen had 29% and Winn 24%. In Allen’s own home precinct, San Michelle, Whittaker completely blew away both opponents and carried the precinct with 50%. Allen had 27% and Winn 23%, again neither candidate able to break through the 30% barrier. The last notable precinct is home to current councilman Alex Finter, Sun Trails. Finter has a home court advantage here and a huge social standing. Still Whittaker stayed right above 40% and this was his worst performing precinct. Allen did her best here at 38% but unable to top Whittaker.

We are about one month from early ballots coming out for the November ballot. While anything is possible the D2 race is looking impossible for Allen to win.
